Plaza Flowers, founded by the The Drummond Family, provides beautiful and professionally prepared floral arrangements for all occasions. One particular client is the John James Audubon Center. Named after painter and naturalist, John James Audubon, the center is located at Mill Grove on the west side of the village of Audubon. Presently situated on more than 175 acres and five miles of wooded trails on the south bank of Perkiomen Creek, this amazing bird sanctuary touts more than 175 different bird species that call this home. The fine staff at the center focus on their purpose which in their words is ” Our mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the earth’s biological diversity”.
In the words of Plaza Flowers owner Chris Drummond, the family lived within walking distance and we all knew that county park like the back of our hand. We hiked the trails, climbed the trees, fished in the Perkiomen Creek, and participated in many service projects at Mill Grove. When the name changed to the John James Audubon Center, and they began hosting events, it was a natural fit for the Drummonds to be the florists of choice. We would help set up the chairs for wedding ceremonies, then add shepherd hooks, aisle runners, flowers and more. At first everything was very natural … outside. Since then the barn has been remodeled and they’ve added a beautiful pavilion, complete with an air conditioned bridal suite.
Plaza Flowers is a family owned business founded in 1983 by Dottie Drummond. Dottie had a keen ability to leave her customers delighted with service and stunning Flowers. Since inception Plaza Flowers has offered this same level of service Dottie ingrained into the business and future generations of Plaza Flowers family members. Seven day per week service for the entire Philadelphia region existed then and still does today.
